The elevator, in the Sproul Hall on the campus of University of California Davis, was the location of an untitled audio installation by GX Jupitter-Larsen.

Presented as part of an exhibition curatored by Eloise Leigh and Kate Cryan, the modernistic elevator was furnished with the recorded sounds of a very old rickety elevator. The elevator one was riding wasn't the elevator one was hearing; not completely any way.

The aim was to reveal aspects, of the campus which have gone unnoticed, completed with a juxtaposition of site and sound. The exhibition was met by various reactions by workers & visitors alike; both positive and negative. Vandalism would end up having the last word on the topic. Somehow entropy always gets its way...

The exhibition also featured work by the likes of Joe Colley and Scot Arford in other campus elevators.
